1. How Long does it take to get my freight or package on a truck?
Answer: "Normally from 1 to 3 days depending
on your geographical area and the type of freight."
2. What determines the transportation costs?
Answer: "Several things;
-
How flexible can you be as far as pick up
and delivery dates? The more flexible you
can be, the lower the rate in most cases.
-
Geographical areas of pick up and delivery
points. Traffic lanes are easier, just that
simple.
-
Knowledge. People like LoadMyTruck.Com deal
with the same list of trucking companies every
day. We know rates! Lots of companies call
us several times a day just to get a good
rate for their own customers!"
3. May I "Pack my Car?" (For Auto
Transport)
Answer: "Simple answer.....no. Your belongings
are never insured while your vehicle is on the
truck. In addition, it weighs down the vehicle so
the truck may have to leave someone else's car
behind. Also, anything on the truck, including
personal belongings in a vehicle must, by law, be
inventoried and listed on the freight bills."
4. What if the Trucking Company damages my freight or
goods?
Answer: "Before we dispatch any trucking
company,
their insurance is verified, including cargo
coverage for your goods."
5. What if I want special handling?
Answer: "These are readily available options to
you. It does cost slightly more to request special
handling.
The choice is yours."
6. How long will it take for my freight to reach it's
destination?
Answer: "Again, depending on logistics, 7 to 14
days from time of pick up. Keep in mind that
there occasionally are short delays for unavoidable
reasons such as weather, traffic, or mechanical
failure, but this is rare. In most cases 7 to 14
days is plenty of time to allow for delivery."
7. What about a Deposit? Are They
Required?
Answer: It is sometimes required that you post a deposit
with the broker or
trucking company.
This prevents multiple bookings so that when the
truck
arrives, he is
expected and it is the right truck.
These deposits
"Should Be" refundable
in the event that the
booking agent does not
perform well.
A Word to the Wise about Deposits
Make sure that you do not sign a contract with any
Booking Agent, Broker, or
trucking company who has a
"Non-Refundable Deposit" Clause in their contract.
You
always have a
guarantee of a refund if they can't get your
freight
transported within
a Certain Time Frame.
Non-Refundable Deposits are just that!
Non-Refundable. Do
Not Make This Mistake!
Most Booking Agents, Brokers, and trucking
companies are honest and
sincerely
want to help you in a professional manner but
there are a few who simply aren't
honest out there.
